Offbeat News : Actress Priya Bapat is currently making headlines with her new web series Andhera. Known for her work in both Hindi and Marathi cinema, Priya believes that OTT platforms have transformed the portrayal of women on screen.
“In earlier times, women were mostly shown as wives, mothers, or lovers. But today, things have changed. OTT has given us the space to showcase our true acting potential with layered and challenging roles. Most importantly, stories are now being written around women,” she said.
With a career spanning over two decades, Priya has delivered many memorable performances. While her powerful role in City of Dreams was widely appreciated, her latest series Andhera promises to thrill audiences.
A psychological horror-thriller, Andhera follows police inspector Kalpana Kadam, played by Priya, as she investigates a missing person’s case in Mumbai that unravels into a dark mystery. The show also stars Surveen Chawla and Prajakta Koli, directed by Raghav Dar and produced by Excel Entertainment. It is now streaming on Prime Video.
