Offbeat : Actress Rashmika Mandanna says that the characters of Srivalli in the film Pushpa and Maharani Yesubai in the film Chhava are very special to her. According to her, these two roles not only enhanced her acting skills but also deeply impacted her as a person.
Rashmika shared that both these characters made her stronger from within and helped her reach new heights as an actress. In an interview, she said, “Pushpa and Chhava inspired me a lot. These characters were strong, confident, and deeply honest. They taught me to bring true emotions to every scene, trust myself, and perform from the heart.”
She added that the experiences of working on these films helped her mature as an artist.
Pushpa, directed by Sukumar, is a Telugu film starring Rashmika Mandanna and Allu Arjun in lead roles. Pushpa: The Rise, released in 2021, was a massive box office hit and became the highest-grossing film of that year. Its sequel Pushpa 2: The Rule was released in 2024 and broke several first-day earning records, becoming India’s biggest opening film.
On the other hand, Chhava is a period-action film based on the life of Maratha emperor Sambhaji Maharaj. Rashmika plays Maharani Yesubai, while Vicky Kaushal portrays Sambhaji. The film is based on the famous Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant and is directed by Laxman Utekar.
