Jharkhand News : Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL) officially launched the Girls Empowerment Mission (GEM) 2026 on May 22, 2026, with the registration of 50 girl students from nearby schools. The initiative is designed to support the holistic development of young girls by helping them build confidence, learn essential life skills, and prepare for a brighter future.

To mark the occasion, an inauguration programme was organized in the evening where students from the previous year’s GEM batch showcased colourful cultural performances and shared their inspiring experiences from the workshop. They encouraged the newly enrolled participants of GEM 2026 to actively participate in the programme and make the most of the learning opportunities provided.
The event was graced by PVUNL Chief Executive Officer Shri A.K. Sehgal and Smt. Renu Sehgal, President of Swarn Rekha Mahila Samiti, as Chief Guests. Senior officials, members of the PVUNL family, children, and their families were also present during the programme.
As part of the initiative, school bags, uniforms, shoes, kits, and other essential materials were distributed among the 50 participating girls. Through GEM 2026, PVUNL aims to promote leadership, creativity, and self-confidence among young girls while inspiring them to emerge as future role models in society.
