Ramkrishna Mehta Completes 25 Years as Football Referee, Honored in Koderma

Jharkhand News : Ramkrishna Mehta, a resident of Dhargawn, Domchanch block, has completed 25 years of service as a football referee, earning admiration from sports lovers across the district. Despite never having played professional football himself, Mehta has been officiating matches since 2000, gaining a reputation for fairness and discipline.

By profession, Mehta is a teacher and currently principal of Satyam Shivam Sundaram High School, Phulwaria. He is also a senior journalist, serving as Jharkhand State Bureau Chief for News Star Bharat. In 2017, he was recognized at the national level with a Digital India Award from the President of India.

On Sunday, the Dhargawn Sports Committee celebrated his milestone at Green Grass Stadium, where community leaders, sports officials, and fans cut a cake and extended their best wishes.

Local sports enthusiasts praised Mehta’s multi-faceted contributions in education, journalism, social service, and sports, calling him a role model for the younger generation. Known for his strong body language and adherence to modern football rules, Mehta has officiated in several high-profile day-night tournament finals.

At 42, he continues to inspire players with the message of sportsmanship and dedication.
