Jharkhand News : The 4th South Asian (SAF) Senior Athletics Championship is set to kick off at Morabadi Football Stadium in Ranchi from October 24. Top athletes from six South Asian countries — India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, and Sri Lanka — will participate in the event.
India will field a strong contingent of over 70 athletes competing in 37 events, while a total of 300 athletes from the six nations will vie for medals. Preparations for the championship have been completed, and entry for spectators will be completely free.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren will be the chief guest at the opening ceremony, which will begin at 6 PM on October 24. Around 500 artists are set to perform during the opening and closing ceremonies, showcasing Jharkhand’s rich culture and folk traditions.
