Jharkhand News : Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri inaugurated a Model Anganwadi Centre at Haatma Bhatta Upar Tola on Wednesday, marking the beginning of the ‘Poshan Maah’ (Nutrition Month) 2025. The initiative aims to raise awareness about nutrition, hygiene, and overall well-being, especially among children, pregnant women, and the local community.

As part of Poshan Maah 2025, which will run from September 17 to October 16, the district administration will promote key themes such as sanitation, clean drinking water, hygiene practices, and the importance of toilet usage across the region.

Addressing the gathering, the DC emphasized,

“Nutrition and hygiene are the pillars of a healthy society. This model Anganwadi centre is a vital step towards providing better health and early education to our children.”

The Model Anganwadi is equipped with modern amenities and designed to provide a safe, nurturing, and educational environment. It aims to serve as a community hub for child nutrition, early childhood care, and women’s health.

To amplify the awareness campaign under Poshan Maah, the DC flagged off four mobile nutrition awareness vans (Poshan Prachar Rath), which will travel across Ranchi district to educate people on nutrition, hygiene, and health.

During the event, the District Social Welfare Officer shared detailed guidelines with Anganwadi workers and helpers based on the official Poshan Maah 2025 calendar. He urged all stakeholders to actively participate at the grassroots level to ensure the success of the campaign.

This year’s Poshan Maah theme focuses on the nutrition, health, and hygiene of children and women. Several awareness programs, community workshops, and special outreach drives are planned throughout the month.

The event witnessed active participation from Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs), lady supervisors, Anganwadi workers and helpers, adolescent girls, and local community members.
