Jharkhand News : With the arrival of the New Year, the capital of Jharkhand, Ranchi, is set to receive a special gift. On the initiative of the Ranchi Municipal Corporation, a modern night market has been developed outside the Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium, with preparations now almost complete. The night market has been designed to be safe, well-organized, and family-friendly.
A dedicated platform has been constructed outside the stadium to ensure that the night market operates within a fixed area. This arrangement aims to prevent traffic congestion and maintain order. The civic body’s objective is to provide residents with a comfortable space where they can spend quality time with their families during late evening hours.
Food stalls will be the main attraction of the night market. Visitors will be able to enjoy street food, fast food, as well as traditional Jharkhand cuisines. In addition, separate stalls have been allocated for local handicrafts, household products, and daily-use items. This initiative is expected to directly benefit small shopkeepers, local vendors, and self-employed individuals.
The municipal corporation is spending around ₹1 crore on the development of the night market. The budget covers platform construction, improved lighting, electricity and water facilities, seating arrangements, cleanliness, barricading, and comprehensive security measures. The market has been fully enclosed to ensure it operates strictly within designated boundaries.
Municipal Commissioner Sushant Gaurav stated that special security arrangements have been made for the night market. The entire area will be well-lit and equipped with CCTV cameras, along with deployment of security personnel. Food stall operators will be required to strictly follow hygiene and food quality norms, with regular monitoring by the municipal authorities.
According to the municipal corporation, the launch of the night market will make Ranchi’s evenings more vibrant. In the coming years, it could emerge as a new landmark for the city. There are also plans to further expand the night market in the future, giving Ranchi a more modern and attractive urban identity.
