Ranchi: Heavy rain brought relief from the heat and humidity in Ranchi and several other districts of Jharkhand on Monday. The downpour, which followed two to three days of hot and humid weather, led to a drop in temperature and made the weather pleasant.
However, heavy rainfall in the afternoon caused waterlogging in several parts of Ranchi. Water accumulated on a number of roads, creating difficulties for commuters and affecting movement in some areas.
Yellow Alert for Rain and Lightning Till September 13
The Meteorological Department has forecast rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in Ranchi and several other districts of Jharkhand until September 13. Heavy rainfall is also likely in some areas during this period.
A yellow alert has been issued, and people have been advised to remain cautious during adverse weather conditions.
Pirtaand Records Highest Rainfall
During the past 24 hours, the highest rainfall in the state was recorded at 112.4 mm in Pirtaand of Giridih district.
During the same period, the highest maximum temperature of 35.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in Baharagora, while the lowest temperature of 20.3 degrees Celsius was recorded in Kanke, Ranchi.
Heavy Rain After Clear Morning in Ranchi
The weather remained clear in Ranchi and nearby areas during the morning on Monday. However, dark clouds gathered in the afternoon, followed by heavy rainfall.
Ranchi recorded a maximum temperature of 31.5 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 23.5 degrees Celsius.
Jamshedpur recorded a maximum of 35.0 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 26.4 degrees Celsius. Daltonganj recorded 32.8 degrees Celsius and 25.9 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Bokaro recorded a maximum temperature of 34.5 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 25.1 degrees Celsius, while Chaibasa recorded a maximum of 35.4 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 24.8 degrees Celsius.
