Offbeat News : Beyond the silver screen, late Bollywood star Rishi Kapoor’s life reflected both stardom and simple human emotions. Known for his charm and powerhouse performances, he also struggled with smoking and was a chain smoker for years. But one day, a single innocent comment from his daughter changed everything.

In his autobiography Khullam Khulla, Rishi Kapoor revealed that his daughter once told him she wouldn’t kiss him in the morning because of the smell of cigarettes. That struck him deeply, and from that day on, he never touched a cigarette again.

Born on September 4, 1952, into the legendary Kapoor family, Rishi grew up surrounded by cinema. He debuted as a child actor in Mera Naam Joker (1970), winning a National Award, and rose to stardom with Bobby (1973). Over his career, he delivered hits like Karz, Chandni, Prem Rog, Amar Akbar Anthony, Agneepath, Kapoor & Sons, and 102 Not Out. From romantic hero to versatile actor, he kept reinventing himself across generations.

Rishi Kapoor worked in over 150 films and won numerous awards, including the Filmfare Best Actor for Bobby, Critics Award for Do Dooni Chaar, and Best Supporting Actor for Kapoor & Sons.

In 2018, he was diagnosed with cancer and underwent treatment in New York. Despite returning to films, his health deteriorated, and on April 30, 2020, he passed away. Loved for his smile, screen presence, and relatable persona, Rishi Kapoor remains etched in the hearts of millions.
