Jharkhand News : A shocking case has come to light where Union Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, has received a death threat through a text message. The message reportedly warned that he would be shot, triggering immediate concern among security agencies.
As per Ranchi Police, the message was sent from a specific mobile number, and the cyber cell has launched a detailed investigation to trace its origin. Currently, Sanjay Seth is in Delhi, but authorities have assured full protection and are monitoring the situation closely.
Notably, this is not the first time Sanjay Seth has received such threats. Back in December 2024, he was sent a threatening message demanding ₹50 lakh as extortion money. The sender had warned him of dire consequences if he failed to pay. That earlier incident also led to a police investigation, although now the recurrence of such threats has once again raised serious concerns about security and law enforcement preparedness.
In response to the latest threat, an FIR has been registered, and the cyber team is working to track down the suspect using technical tools and mobile data analysis. The police have taken the matter seriously and are determined to bring the culprit to justice at the earliest.
This incident has sparked outrage among Sanjay Seth’s supporters and BJP workers, who are demanding swift action and strict punishment for those responsible.
Security experts point out that repeated threats to a Union Minister not only pose a risk to the individual but also highlight broader concerns over cybercrime and political security in India.
The investigative agencies are also trying to determine whether the threat is part of a larger conspiracy or an isolated act by an individual. Officials are leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that the person behind this cowardly act is caught soon.
The case is under active investigation, and further updates are expected in the coming days as police dig deeper into the origin of the message and possible suspects.
