Jharkhand News : A shocking incident has come to light from a government school in Jharkhand’s Garhwa district, where a farewell party for Class 8 students turned controversial after a viral video showed the headmaster dancing inappropriately with a minor student.
The incident took place at a government school in Sohbariya village under Meral block. In the viral video circulating on social media, the headmaster Kundan Kumar Ranjan can be seen dancing to allegedly obscene songs inside the school premises and lifting a minor girl student in his arms while dancing. Some teachers were also seen recording the video.
Public Outrage After Video Went Viral
As soon as the video surfaced online, it sparked widespread outrage among local residents and parents. Taking the matter seriously, the district education department ordered an immediate preliminary inquiry.
Headmaster Suspended, Action Against Two Teachers
After verification of the video, District Education Officer Kaiser Raza took strict action and suspended headmaster Kundan Kumar Ranjan with immediate effect for violating disciplinary norms and teacher conduct rules.
During the suspension period, his headquarters has been assigned to the Garhwa Area Education Officer’s office, where he will be required to mark biometric attendance daily.
Two assistant teachers, Purushottam Pandit and Subeshwar Ram, who were also involved in the incident, are facing termination proceedings under the Jharkhand Assistant Teacher Service Rules, 2021.
Further Investigation Underway
Officials stated that such behavior by teachers with students inside a school campus is highly inappropriate and sends the wrong message to society.
The education department is also investigating whether any official permission was taken to organize the event and who all were involved in it. Authorities have reiterated that a zero-tolerance policy will be followed to prevent such incidents in the future, and strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty.
