Sonam Wangchuk Encourages JPSC-JSSC Recruitment Protest Leader Devendra Nath Mahto Through Video Call

Jharkhand News : The protest demanding a corruption-free recruitment process in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) continued on Wednesday under the leadership of student leader Devendra Nath Mahto. The demonstration entered its 12th day of satyagraha and the fourth day of the indefinite hunger strike, with the protesters remaining firm on their demands.

During the protest, noted social activist Sonam Wangchuk spoke with Devendra Nath Mahto through a video call for nearly half an hour. Wangchuk enquired about the current status of the movement, Mahto’s health, and the condition of the protesting students.

Wangchuk Calls for Peaceful Democratic Protest

During the conversation, Sonam Wangchuk said that peaceful and non-violent movements are the most effective means of bringing change in a democratic system. He urged the protesters to continue their agitation with patience, restraint, and adherence to democratic values, while expressing his support and encouragement for Devendra Nath Mahto and the students participating in the protest.

Mahto Accepts Water Following Wangchuk’s Appeal

At Wangchuk’s request, Devendra Nath Mahto agreed to drink water during the conversation.

Mahto also invited Wangchuk to visit Ranchi and meet the protesting students to boost their morale. Wangchuk responded positively and assured him that he would visit at an appropriate time.

Protest to Continue Until Demands Are Addressed

Speaking to the media, Devendra Nath Mahto said that there is widespread dissatisfaction among candidates over the alleged irregularities and corruption in various JPSC and JSSC recruitment processes.

He stated that the indefinite hunger strike and satyagraha would continue until the government orders a fair investigation into the allegations and takes concrete and satisfactory action on the demands raised by the aspirants.

Mahto emphasized that the protest is being conducted in a peaceful and democratic manner. He also claimed that candidates and youth from different districts of Jharkhand are extending continuous support to the movement, strengthening the campaign further.

He appealed to the state government to initiate meaningful dialogue and take prompt steps to address the concerns of the aspirants.
