Sutli Bomb Thrown at Singh Mansion in Dhanbad, Police Probe On

Jharkhand News : Panic spread in the Saraidhela police station area of Dhanbad after bike-borne criminals allegedly hurled sutli bombs at Singh Mansion late Sunday night. The incident occurred between 11:30 pm and midnight, triggering fear among residents in the locality.

According to preliminary information, the attackers threw two bombs. One bomb exploded inside the main gate of Singh Mansion, a place where meetings of supporters are usually held, while the second bomb fell outside the premises. Fortunately, no one was present at the spot at that time, and no injuries were reported.

The loud explosion startled people living nearby and led to chaos in the area. At the time of the incident, Ragini Singh, MLA from Jharia, and her husband Sanjeev Singh were inside the residence. By the time security personnel and others rushed outside, the miscreants had already fled.

On receiving information, Ritwik Srivastava, City SP of Dhanbad, reached the spot along with a heavy police force and inspected the site. Police have cordoned off the area and started collecting evidence. The DVR of CCTV cameras installed at Singh Mansion has been seized, and footage from nearby cameras is also being examined to identify the attackers.

Initial investigation suggests that the explosive used was a sutli bomb, which is not capable of causing large-scale damage. Police suspect the act was carried out to spread panic rather than to cause casualties.

The incident has gained significance as it occurred just two days before Sanjeev Singh is scheduled to file his nomination for the post of Mayor in the municipal elections. The timing has raised suspicion of a possible intimidation attempt or political conspiracy.

Police officials said all possible angles are being examined and assured that those responsible will be arrested soon.
