Jamshedpur : Tata Power, one of India’s leading integrated power companies and EV charging solutions providers, in partnership with Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. (TATA.ev), has achieved a major milestone in the expansion of India’s EV charging infrastructure. The companies’ 10 co-branded Tata Power x TATA.ev Mega Charger hubs across four states have collectively recorded more than 70,000 charging sessions and over 85,000 charging hours.
The charging network has supported more than 75 lakh electric kilometres and helped avoid an estimated 6,690 tonnes of CO₂ emissions, according to the companies.
25 Fast Chargers Add 2.7 MW Charging Capacity
The Mega Charger network is strategically spread across Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. It includes 25 fast chargers, 56 charging guns and a cumulative charging capacity of 2.7 MW.
Individual hubs offer charging capacities ranging from 180 kW to 600 kW, allowing multiple electric vehicles to charge simultaneously and strengthening both intercity and intracity EV mobility.
Four charging hubs are located along the Yamuna Expressway connecting Greater Noida and Agra. Three hubs are situated on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada corridor, including 7 Midway Plaza – Suryapet, Hotel Vivera Narketpalle and ILabs Hyderabad.
The network also includes a hub on the Bengaluru–Tirupati route at Retreat Restro, and another on the Pune–Bengaluru corridor at Sai International, Sangli. In addition, hubs in Mumbai and Hyderabad support intra-city EV mobility.
Mumbai’s Leela Mega Charger Offers Capacity for 16 EVs
The flagship The Leela Mega Charger hub in Mumbai, located near Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, has a charging capacity of 600 kW and features 16 charging guns.
The facility includes six 60 kW and two 120 kW fast chargers and can support simultaneous charging for up to 16 electric vehicles. Located along a high-footfall corridor connecting business, travel and logistics hubs, the site is designed to serve private EV owners, taxis, ride-hailing fleets and other high-frequency users.
Tata Power Targets Wider EV Charging Expansion by 2030
The Mega Charger network is part of Tata Power’s larger EV charging ecosystem, which includes more than 6,700 public and captive charging points, 2.5 lakh home chargers and over 1,200 bus charging points across more than 690 cities and towns.
The company has set a target of expanding its network to 10,000 public charging points and 7.5 lakh home chargers by 2030 as India continues to accelerate its transition towards green mobility.
