Jharkhand News : Two promising karatekas from the Tata Steel Foundation’s Karate Unit, Sunakshi Gupta and Hiba Firdaus, are set to represent the Bihar-Jharkhand region at the upcoming National Karate Championship 2025 in Bengaluru.
Both athletes earned gold medals at the CISCE Regional Karate Selection Competition held in Patna, thereby securing their spots for the national event, scheduled from September 15 to 18 at the Center of Excellence in Sports, Bengaluru.
Sunakshi will compete in the 64–68 kg category, while Hiba will participate in the above 68 kg category.
Their coaches, Shihan Sarju Ram and Sensei M. Prashant, expressed pride in the duo’s achievement. This success also marks a proud moment for the Tata Steel Foundation, which continues to promote and support young talent in sports.
