Tribal Society Shows the World How to Live in Harmony with Nature: CM Soren

Jharkhand News : On the occasion of World Tribal Day, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren paid an emotional tribute to his late father and tribal icon, Guru Shibu Soren. Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the Chief Minister recalled the visionary ideals of his father and vowed to walk the path he laid for the empowerment of the tribal community.

“Though Baba is no longer with us in person, his thoughts, struggles, and ideals continue to inspire us,” CM Soren wrote. He emphasized that it was the tribal society that showed humanity how to live in harmony with nature and preserve natural resources like land, water, and forests.

CM Soren noted that despite their contributions, tribal and marginalized communities have long been sidelined. “Baba devoted his entire life to changing this narrative,” he added.

He also said World Tribal Day was a favorite occasion of his father, as it brought together the rich traditions, cultures, and unity of the tribal society on a common platform. He called the day a celebration of tribal heritage and an opportunity to present their talent on a global stage.

Hemant Soren reaffirmed his commitment to raising the torch of tribal identity and culture even higher. “Strong villages, empowered states, and a prosperous nation — this is our foundation,” he wrote.

The Chief Minister also performed traditional rituals on the fifth day of his father’s Shraddh ceremony along with his family, as per local customs.
