Jharkhand News : A tribute meeting was organized at the AJSU Party district office in Ramgarh on Friday to commemorate the death anniversary of Jharkhand movement leader and martyr Nirmal Mahato. Giridih MP Chandra Prakash Choudhary attended the programme as the chief guest and paid floral tributes to the late leader.
Party leaders and workers also offered flowers and garlands before Mahato’s portrait, remembering his contribution to the Jharkhand movement.
Addressing the gathering, MP Chandra Prakash Choudhary said Nirmal Mahato, born on December 25, 1950, dedicated his life to the rights of farmers and workers. He described Mahato as a courageous leader whose struggle against exploitation and injustice strengthened the movement for a separate Jharkhand state.
Choudhary said Mahato played a key role in organizing and accelerating the Jharkhand statehood movement, and his sacrifice continues to inspire generations of young people. He added that Mahato laid down his life while fighting for the rights of workers and farmers, and his legacy would remain a guiding force for the people of Jharkhand.
AJSU Central Secretary Manoj Kumar Mahato said that martyr Nirmal Mahato founded the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), which played a significant role in the movement for the creation of Jharkhand. He urged party workers to follow Mahato’s ideals and work towards fulfilling his vision, calling it the true tribute to the late leader.
Among those present were AJSU Central Secretary Manoj Kumar Mahato, Dharmendra Saw Bhopali, Neeraj Mandal, Kuldeep Verma, Dinesh Kushwaha, Nunulal Mahato, Mahendra Kumar, Sanjay Mahato, Kailash Rajak, Lalu Sharma, Rakesh Sinha, Pintu Dutta, Jeetu, Suman Sharma, Shara Devi, Gayatri Devi, Meera Devi, Kunti Devi, and other party workers.
