Jharkhand News : Coal transportation under the Pakri Barwadih Coal Mining Project once again came under attack as unidentified armed miscreants targeted two Hyva trucks engaged in coal transportation near Terah Mile on Saturday night. The incident occurred around 11:00 p.m., nearly 200 metres ahead of Terah Mile. Although no injuries were reported, both vehicles sustained damage, creating panic among transport workers in the area.
According to eyewitness drivers, three armed miscreants were lying in wait at the spot. They allegedly opened fire on the two Hyva trucks, firing nearly seven rounds. The attackers also smashed the windshields of the vehicles with iron rods, causing significant damage. After carrying out the attack, the assailants fled the scene. A pamphlet bearing the words “Prince Khan K.S.S.” was recovered from the spot, which is also being examined by the police as part of the investigation.
Notably, this is not the first attack on coal transportation under the project this year. Earlier, on April 22, 2026, unidentified criminals had set a coal-laden Hyva truck on fire in broad daylight near Terah Mile. The recurring incidents have raised serious concerns over the security of coal transportation operations in the project area. Drivers and transport workers have expressed growing apprehension over their safety.
Condemning the incident, the Pakri Barwadih Project Management described the attack as extremely serious and unfortunate. The management expressed confidence that the police administration would soon identify those responsible and take strict legal action against them to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation. Officials said evidence collected from the scene, including the recovered pamphlet, is being examined to identify the perpetrators. Raids are reportedly underway to arrest those involved in the attack.
