Two Minor Girls Missing from Dhanbad Shelter Home, Probe On

Jharkhand News : Two minor girls have gone missing from a government-recognised girls’ shelter home in Dhanbad, prompting police to launch a search operation. The incident was reported from the Saraiyadhela police station area, where the Home House Children Home (Balika Grih) is run by the Gram Prodyogiki Vikas Sansthan.

According to the shelter home management, the two girls, both under 16 years of age, left the premises without informing anyone at around 6:27 pm on February 12, 2026. When they failed to return despite extensive searches by the staff, the matter was immediately reported to Saraiyadhela Police Station and the Child Welfare Committee (CWC).

Officials said the girls had been staying at the shelter home following orders issued by the CWC. A missing persons case has been registered, and police teams are actively searching possible locations. Special focus is being given to areas in and around Dhanbad, as well as the neighbouring Asansol region.

The shelter home management has appealed to the public to share any information related to the missing girls with the nearest police station or concerned authorities. Police officials stated that all possible angles are being examined and efforts are underway to trace the minors at the earliest.
