Rising Human-Elephant Conflict in Jharkhand

Incidents of elephants straying into urban and residential areas have been increasing in Jharkhand in recent months. Earlier, a wild elephant had entered the Ratu area of Ranchi, and it took considerable effort by forest and police teams to guide it back to the forest safely.

The issue of human-elephant conflict was also raised during the recent Jharkhand Assembly Budget Session, where concerns were expressed over rising casualties and damage caused by elephant movement in populated areas.
