Woman Arrested from Jharkhand in Suspected Terror Module Probe, West Bengal STF Continues Investigation

Jharkhand News : The West Bengal Police Special Task Force (STF) has arrested 22-year-old Arpita Sarkar from Sahibganj district in Jharkhand in connection with an investigation into a suspected terror module. The operation was carried out at Bebatpur Gwalkhor village under the Barharwa Police Station limits, after which the STF team took her to West Bengal for further legal proceedings.

According to the STF, Arpita Sarkar is alleged to have been in contact with the suspected module linked to Hamim Mandal, who had been arrested earlier in the case. Her arrest was made in connection with Burdwan Police Station Case No. 1096/26.

Officials said Arpita will be produced at Burdwan Police Station on Saturday. After completing the required legal formalities, she will be presented before a court, where the police are expected to seek her custodial remand for further questioning.

The main accused in the case, Hamim Mandal, had already been arrested by the West Bengal Police from Burdwan. Investigators are now examining Arpita Sarkar’s alleged role, her contacts, and the possible involvement of other individuals linked to the suspected module.

The STF emphasized that the investigation is still underway. The allegations against Arpita Sarkar remain under investigation and will be subject to the judicial process. Security agencies are continuing efforts to identify and trace other individuals who may be connected to the suspected network.
