Jharkhand News : A sensational murder case has come to light in Jharkhand’s Chatra district, where the body of a young woman was recovered on Tuesday from the Haddwa area near Kauleshwari Hill under the Hunterganj police station limits. Police said the woman was shot dead, indicating a targeted killing.
The deceased has been identified as Poonam Devi (25), a resident of Gaighat. She was the mother of two children. Preliminary investigation suggests that the murder may be linked to a love affair and marital dispute.
Second marriage under scanner
According to locals, Poonam was earlier married in Dantar village, but had recently entered into a second marriage with Yogendra Bharti following a love relationship. Villagers claimed that her first husband and in-laws were unhappy with the second marriage, which may have led to tension.
Police are examining this background as a possible motive behind the killing.
Police launch manhunt
Upon receiving information, Hunterganj police reached the spot, recovered the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. Officers said efforts are underway to identify and arrest those involved in the crime.
Investigators are probing all angles, including personal relationships, family rivalry, and recent developments, to establish the exact sequence of events. Police officials said the case is being treated with priority and is expected to be cracked soon.
