ZP Head Assistant Arrested by ACB for Accepting ₹65,000 Bribe in Latehar

Jharkhand News : The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) team from Palamu on Thursday arrested Santosh Singh, the Head Assistant at the Latehar District Council office, red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹65,000. According to reports, Singh had allegedly demanded money from a contractor in exchange for clearing payment related to a bridge construction project.

The contractor, frustrated by the repeated demand for money, lodged a complaint with the ACB. Acting on the complaint, the ACB verified the allegations and planned a trap. As per the plan, the contractor visited Singh’s residence with the marked money. The moment Singh accepted the bribe, the ACB team, waiting outside, entered and caught him red-handed. The tainted money was recovered and verified.
After completing necessary paperwork, the ACB team arrested Singh and took him to Palamu for further investigation.
