Bihar News : The Railway Protection Force (RPF) Post Siwan rescued a 13-year-old boy who had lost his way under Operation ‘Nanhe Farishte’ and, after completing the required legal formalities, handed him over to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Siwan.
According to information, during escorting of Train No. 15909 Up Avadh Assam Express between Chhapra and Gorakhpur, escort party commander Constable Palak Dhari Yadav and his team found a boy alone in Coach S-4. The team took him into safe custody and handed him over to RPF Post Siwan along with a written report.
At the RPF post, shift in-charge Sub-Inspector Rajendra Singh questioned the boy. He identified himself as Mohammad Idrish, 13, son of Mohammad Nuhu, a resident of Paranpur Belgachhi village under Paranpur police station in Katihar district.
Boy Accidentally Boarded Train
During questioning, the boy said he had boarded the train by mistake and reached Siwan. RPF officials contacted his father, Mohammad Nuhu, using the mobile number provided by the boy. His father confirmed that Idrish was his son and said he was currently in Mumbai. He informed the RPF that his brother and the boy’s maternal uncle would travel to Siwan.
The RPF assured the family that the boy was safe and being kept under proper care at the RPF Post Siwan.
Medical Examination Conducted
Assistant Sub-Inspector Shailendra Kumar Pandey took the boy to Sadar Hospital, Siwan, where he underwent a medical examination. After the examination, all required legal formalities, including Form-17, were completed before the Child Welfare Committee.
The boy was subsequently handed over to the Child Welfare Committee, Siwan, as per the prescribed procedure.
Operation Aims to Protect Children
RPF officials said Operation ‘Nanhe Farishte’ aims to provide safety and protection to missing, lost or distressed children found at railway stations and on trains. Under the initiative, such children are reunited with their families wherever possible or referred to the Child Welfare Committee for necessary care, protection and rehabilitation.
