The event, held at the GIMS campus, was filled with festive enthusiasm and lasted from afternoon to evening. Over seventy women, including faculty members, staff from the admissions department, housekeeping, and even gardeners, participated with great excitement. Each woman applied a ceremonial tilak, tied a rakhi on Mr. Singh’s wrist, and offered sweets—symbolizing the traditional bond of protection and trust.

In return, Swadesh Kumar Singh gifted the participants chocolates, sweets, and small tokens of appreciation. Addressing the gathering, he spoke emotionally about the deeper meaning of Raksha Bandhan in today’s context.

“This event is not just about celebrating a festival—it’s about strengthening our emotional bonds and reaffirming our commitment to the safety, respect, and dignity of every woman in our institution,” Mr. Singh said. “In a time when society faces challenges concerning women’s safety, events like these help nurture empathy, trust, and solidarity in workplaces.”

He further emphasized that fostering mutual respect between men and women is essential for building a healthier and safer society. “When we commit to stand with each other—especially for the safety and dignity of women—positive change is bound to follow.”

The celebration was met with appreciation from all corners of the institution. Staff members expressed joy at the CEO’s inclusive approach and his thoughtful gesture of allowing every woman in the campus—from teaching staff to support workers—to participate equally in the ceremony.

The entire GIMS campus was charged with festive spirit, laughter, and a sense of family. The unique Raksha Bandhan celebration served as a model of how traditional festivals can be celebrated with a modern, inclusive touch—promoting respect, unity, and empowerment in the workplace.
