India News : A high alert has been issued across Bihar’s East Champaran district following intelligence inputs that three dangerous terrorists from Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed have infiltrated into the state through the Nepal border. Police have launched intensive vehicle checks and are monitoring all entry points and police station areas in the district.
Superintendent of Police Swarn Prabhat confirmed the development, stating that the three militants may be planning a major terror attack. Sketches of the suspects have been released, and the public has been urged to help identify them. Anyone with information is advised to contact the nearest police station, dial emergency number 112, or reach out directly to SP Motihari at 9031827100 or 9431822988 (call or WhatsApp).
The district police have also announced a cash reward of ₹50,000 for any credible information leading to the arrest of the suspects.
In light of this threat, security arrangements for Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Rights Yatra have been significantly heightened. According to police sources, the terrorists may target Gandhi’s rally or other public gatherings. Consequently, the roadshow scheduled as part of the event has been cancelled.
Rahul Gandhi entered East Champaran on Thursday, traveling from Bairgania in Sitamarhi district via Phulwaria Ghat. He is expected to pass through Dhaka, Chiraiya, and Lalbegia en route to the district headquarters in Motihari. Heavy security measures have been deployed along the entire route, with multiple checkpoints, strict vehicle screening, and continuous police patrols.
