Supreme Court Dismisses Plea on JSSC-CGL Exam, Big Relief for Candidates

Plea in Supreme Court seeks nationwide intensive electoral roll revision

India News : In a significant verdict related to the JSSC-CGL examination, the Supreme Court of India on Monday dismissed a petition challenging the order of the Jharkhand High Court. With this decision, the apex court upheld the High Court’s ruling, delivering major relief to the Jharkhand government and successful candidates.

A bench comprising Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sandeep Mehta observed that the High Court’s order was legally sound and required no interference. The dismissal of the plea marks a major victory for the state government as well as candidates who cleared the JSSC-CGL examination.

Earlier, on December 3, a division bench of the Jharkhand High Court headed by the Chief Justice had delivered its verdict in the matter. The High Court had stayed the results of 10 candidates while allowing the appointment process of the remaining successful candidates to proceed.

The petitioners had approached the Supreme Court as a “last hope for justice,” seeking an impartial review of the High Court’s order. However, with the apex court rejecting the plea, the legal challenge has effectively come to an end.

Following the High Court’s order, the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) released the final merit list of successful candidates and also issued appointment letters. This allowed the recruitment process under the JSSC-CGL examination to move forward without further delay.

Advocate Amritansh Vats represented the successful candidates and argued in support of the High Court’s decision.

Legal experts believe the Supreme Court’s ruling will now ensure stability in the recruitment process and prevent prolonged uncertainty for candidates who cleared the JSSC-CGL examination.
