Jharkhand News : Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission : Out of 313 candidates who cleared the JSSC Women Supervisor Recruitment Examination 2023, 79 candidates are still awaiting appointment letters. Their appointments remain stuck due to ongoing certificate verification issues.
The successful candidates have reportedly been making repeated visits to the state secretariat, where officials are allegedly demanding income certificates from different years, including 2023 and 2026, creating confusion and delays in the process.
JSSC had issued the recruitment notification in 2023 for 444 vacant posts of Women Supervisors. After completing the examination process, the commission declared results on August 14, 2025, selecting only 313 candidates against the total vacancies, leaving 131 posts vacant due to the unavailability of eligible candidates.
Following document verification by officials from the Social Welfare Department, JSSC recommended the appointment of all 313 successful candidates to the government. However, after a fresh round of scrutiny at the secretariat level, only 234 candidates received appointment letters during a ceremony held on April 21, 2026, where the Chief Minister handed over the appointment letters.
The recruitment process also became the subject of legal disputes. In 2025, 65 unsuccessful candidates filed seven petitions before the Jharkhand High Court challenging the recruitment process and the choice of examination subjects.
During the hearing, questions were raised regarding the constitutional validity of reserving 100 percent seats for women candidates. Later, a division bench headed by Chief Justice M.S. Sonak lifted the stay on the recruitment process and sent the matter back to a single bench for further consideration.
Despite the removal of the stay order, the remaining 79 successful candidates are still waiting for their appointments.
