Bihar News: A dramatic scene unfolded in Bihar’s Supaul district on Tuesday morning when a woman climbed a mobile tower with her young daughter, demanding justice. The incident took place near the Simrahi Durga Temple in the Raghopur police station area and triggered panic among local residents.
According to reports, the woman, identified as Guddi Devi, climbed the tower at around 4:00 a.m. while carrying her small daughter. As news of the incident spread, a large crowd of villagers and passersby gathered at the spot.
Allegations Against Husband
Guddi Devi alleged that she met Amrendra Thakur, a resident of Motipur in Raghopur, while working as a laborer in Delhi-Gurugram nearly ten years ago. The two reportedly fell in love and got married. The couple also has a 12-year-old son.
She claimed that her husband later married another woman and forced her out of the house.
Claims of Repeated Appeals for Justice
The woman said she had been approaching the police and government officials for a long time but had not received any justice. Frustrated by the alleged inaction, she decided to climb the mobile tower as a last resort.
Police Launch Rescue Effort
After receiving information about the incident, police and administrative officials rushed to the scene and began efforts to persuade the woman to come down safely.
Officials used loudspeakers to communicate with her and assured her that her complaints would be investigated and appropriate action would be taken.
Woman Demanded DM and SP’s Presence
Despite repeated appeals, Guddi Devi insisted that she would only come down if the District Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP) personally arrived at the spot and assured her of justice.
The high-voltage drama continued for nearly four hours before the woman finally agreed to descend from the tower along with her daughter after receiving assurances from the administration.
Authorities said the matter will be investigated in accordance with the law, while ensuring the safety and welfare of the woman and her children.
