Chief Minister Lays Foundation Stone for 20 MTPD Curd and Lassi Plant in Nalanda

Bihar News : A major event was held on Monday at the Bihar Sharif Dairy Project campus in Nalanda under the aegis of the Department of Dairy, Fisheries and Animal Resources, Government of Bihar. On the occasion, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary laid the foundation stone for a curd and lassi processing plant with a capacity of 20 metric tonnes per day (MTPD) in the district.

During the programme, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the foundation work for an HPCL petrol pump and a Sudha Cafeteria to be operated by COMFED. In addition, an animal transport vehicle was flagged off, and 300 deep freezers were distributed among retail vendors in the district to strengthen the safe storage and marketing of dairy products.

Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Vijendra Prasad Yadav attended the event as chief guests, while Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar was also present. The programme was presided over by Nand Kishore Ram, Minister of Dairy, Fisheries and Animal Resources, Bihar.

The event was attended by Members of Parliament, Members of the Bihar Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly, other public representatives, departmental officials, dairy farmers, and members of cooperative societies.

According to the state government, the project is expected to enhance milk processing capacity in Nalanda, provide dairy farmers with better market access, promote value addition to milk products, generate local employment, and give fresh impetus to the development of the dairy sector in the region.
