Bihar News : The Agriculture Department on Tuesday held a high-level review meeting at the District Agriculture Office to assess the progress of various agricultural schemes and programs. Chaired by Purnia Division Joint Director (Agriculture) Manoj Kumar, the meeting focused on preventing fertilizer black marketing and ensuring the timely and quality implementation of all government initiatives.
Officials were instructed to carry out daily inspections of wholesale and retail fertilizer outlets across the district. Strict action under the Fertilizer Control Order, 1985, was warned against dealers found violating norms. Block Agriculture Officers were directed to inspect at least 10 fertilizer shops every day through fertilizer inspectors and upload online inspection reports while verifying stock registers, sales records, price lists, and PoS machines.
The meeting also emphasized achieving the farmer registration target through the Bihar Agriculture App. Officials were instructed to ensure verified daily updates of Kharif crop coverage on the online portal and complete the registration of 1,000 farmers in every panchayat.
Progress under the PM-KISAN scheme, Dharti Bachao campaign, Kisan Pathshala, fertilizer sample collection, and quality control measures was also reviewed. Under the ATMA scheme, officials were asked to identify progressive farmers and facilitate their participation in state and national training programs to promote modern farming techniques.
Concluding the meeting, the District Agriculture Officer urged all officials to work with full commitment to ensure effective implementation of agricultural schemes, timely achievement of targets, and delivery of quality services to farmers. District and sub-divisional agriculture officers, block agriculture officers, assistant directors, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
