Bihar News : A district-level programme under the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva–Viksit Bharat’ campaign was organized on Sunday by MY Bharat Katihar under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. As part of the nationwide initiative ‘Generation Z Against Drug Addiction’, more than 15,000 young people across PM SHRI Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kolasi, and educational institutions and blocks throughout the district pledged to build a drug-free society.
The main event, held at PM SHRI Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Kolasi, witnessed the participation of over 500 students and youth, who also listened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address.
Addressing the gathering, former Deputy Chief Minister and Katihar Sadar MLA Tarkishore Prasad said that drug-free youth are the greatest strength of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India). He urged young people to spread the message of de-addiction among their families, friends, and the wider community.
Chairing the programme, District Magistrate Ashutosh Dwivedi said that coordinated efforts by the administration, educational institutions, and social organizations are essential to transform the campaign into a mass movement and make Katihar a drug-free district.
The event was conducted under the guidance of MY Bharat Katihar District Youth Officer Neeraj Jha. Among those present were Deputy Development Commissioner Amit Kumar, Senior Deputy Collector Naimish Kumar, District Education Officer Rahul Chaudhary, and several other officials and dignitaries.
The programme concluded with a collective resolve to build a healthier, stronger, and drug-free Katihar.
