Bihar News : The Bihar Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary at the Cabinet Hall of the Main Secretariat on Wednesday, approved 17 important proposals covering education, sports, drinking water, healthcare, judicial administration, industries, culture and national campaigns.
Central School to Come Up in East Champaran
The Cabinet approved a proposal to provide government land at Piprakothi in East Champaran district to the Ministry of Education on a 30-year lease, with an option for renewal, for the operation of a Kendriya Vidyalaya. The government said the initiative would provide students in the area with better access to quality education.
Sports Science Centre Approved in Rajgir
To strengthen sports infrastructure, the Cabinet approved the establishment of a Sports Science Centre (High-Performance Sports Training and Injury Centre) at the State Sports Academy complex in Rajgir.
The centre will include facilities for training, injury management, human resources, maintenance and modern sports equipment. The government said it would provide athletes with advanced training and sports medicine facilities.
₹279.94 Crore Cleared for Water Supply Projects
Under the centrally sponsored AMRUT 2.0 scheme, the Cabinet granted administrative approval of ₹102.22 crore for the Jamalpur Water Supply Project and ₹177.72 crore for the Munger Water Supply Project. The projects are aimed at strengthening urban drinking water infrastructure.
19 Additional Special Courts Approved
The Cabinet approved the establishment of 19 additional exclusive special courts in West Champaran (Bettiah), Madhubani, Bhojpur (Ara), Siwan, Araria, Supaul, Khagaria, Jehanabad, Buxar, Jamui, Kaimur (Bhabua), Katihar, Sitamarhi, Munger, Madhepura, Banka, Sheikhpura, Aurangabad and Lakhisarai.
The courts will deal with pending cases under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, with the objective of ensuring faster disposal of cases.
The Cabinet also approved the creation of 171 new non-gazetted posts in district and additional sessions courts for the functioning of these special courts.
‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan-2026’ Approved
The state Cabinet also approved the organisation of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan-2026’. The campaign aims to promote patriotism, national unity and respect for the national flag among citizens.
PPP Model for 16 Government Medical Colleges
In a major healthcare decision, the Cabinet approved the adoption of a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model for the operation of 16 government medical colleges and hospitals in the state, including dental colleges.
Administrative approval was also granted for appointing international consulting firm PwC as the transaction advisor for the process. The government said the initiative would help modernise healthcare infrastructure and improve treatment facilities for patients.
106 New Posts Approved for MSME Directorate
The Cabinet approved the creation of 106 new posts for the Directorate of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) under the Industries Department.
It also approved the creation of 12 out of 16 sanctioned technical posts in the Directorate of Archaeology under the Art, Culture and Youth Department.
Besides, the Cabinet cleared a scheme under the Union government’s flagship ‘Gyan Bharatam Mission’ for digitisation and metadata creation of manuscripts surveyed under the programme.
