Bihar News : The Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in Patna has revised its parking charges for the first time in five years. The new tariff has come into effect immediately, with the biggest increase applying to private seven-seater cars and SUVs.
Under the revised rates, parking charges for seven-seater cars and SUVs for up to 30 minutes have been increased from ₹20 to ₹40. However, the parking fee for two-wheelers remains unchanged at ₹10 for the first 30 minutes.
New Pick-and-Drop Rules
The airport administration has also introduced changes to the pick-and-drop system. Vehicles entering the airport premises will now be allowed a maximum of nine minutes between entry and exit. Staying beyond this time limit will attract additional charges.
Drivers of app-based cab services such as Ola and Uber will have to pay ₹55 to access the Arrival or Departure areas. All revised charges are inclusive of GST.
Higher Charges for Larger Vehicles
Under the new tariff:
- Parking charges for vehicles with more than seven seats, auto-rickshaws, and large SUVs have been increased from ₹20 to ₹80 for the first 30 minutes.
- The parking fee for coaches, buses, and trucks has been raised from ₹30 to ₹200 for the same duration.
Parking Charges for 30 Minutes to Two Hours
- Two-wheelers: ₹15 (unchanged)
- Seven-seater cars and SUVs: Increased from ₹55 to ₹65
- Vehicles with more than seven seats: ₹80
- Coaches, buses, and trucks: ₹300
Rates Aligned with Category-B Airports
According to the airport administration, Patna Airport falls under the Category-B airports of India. Therefore, the revised parking charges have been aligned with the fee structure applicable at other Category-B airports across the country.
