Bihar News : Teachers in Bihar will soon no longer have to visit district-level education offices to get their leave applications approved. The Education Department is preparing to completely digitise the leave application and approval process for teachers.
Under the proposed system, teachers will be able to apply for leave online through a dedicated portal being developed at the district level. The move is also expected to curb alleged irregularities and eliminate the need for teachers to make repeated visits to offices for approval.
District-Level Leave Portals Being Developed
The leave portal will function under the supervision of the respective District Education Officer (DEO) and District Education Superintendent (DES).
Teachers will be able to submit their leave applications online based on their designated controlling authority. Once the application is processed, teachers will receive information about the approval or status of their leave directly on their mobile phones.
Approval Within 24 Hours
According to the proposed system, the department aims to process leave applications within 24 hours, making the process faster and more transparent.
The online system is expected to reduce paperwork, save teachers from unnecessary trips to education offices and bring greater accountability to the leave approval process.
The initiative is part of the Education Department’s broader efforts to digitise administrative processes and make services more accessible to teachers across Bihar.
