Bihar to Launch Major Awareness Campaign to Promote Organ Donation: CM

Bihar News : Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has announced a comprehensive public awareness campaign to promote organ donation across Bihar. He made the announcement on Sunday while inaugurating the seventh state-level programme organised on the occasion of the Fourth National Organ Donation Day and the 12th International Organ Donation Day.

The Chief Minister said there can be no greater source of happiness and human experience for a family than bringing happiness into another person’s life after death. He described organ donation as a symbol of humanity, compassion and responsibility towards life.

Why Is Organ Donation Awareness Important?

Samrat Choudhary said people are aware of organ donation, but many do not come forward to donate their organs. He pointed out that families are emotionally distressed at the time of death, making it difficult to take such decisions.

He said an environment of awareness and motivation for organ donation must therefore be created among people in advance.

The Chief Minister said kidney donation can give another person a new lease of life, while eye donation can bring light into someone’s life.

He also praised the work being carried out by the Dadhichi Dehdaan Samiti in the field of organ donation and congratulated all those associated with the organisation.

Awareness Drive to Cover Hospitals

The Chief Minister said the government will initiate steps to associate the Dadhichi Dehdaan Samiti as a partner in Bihar’s healthcare system.

The government will support awareness efforts through committee members at district hospitals, subdivision hospitals and medical colleges to encourage people to donate organs.

He also said possibilities of conducting organ donation awareness campaigns in private hospitals would be explored.

Government Open to Changes in Law

Samrat Choudhary said that if any changes in the law are required in the field of organ donation, the government will sit with the committee and take necessary steps.

He said continuous efforts are being made to strengthen healthcare services in Bihar. According to the Chief Minister, the campaign of the Dadhichi Dehdaan Samiti is not merely about supporting the government but is an effort to serve humanity across Bihar.

He said the government wants to make full use of the campaign because its objective is also to bring happiness into the lives of people in need through organ donation.

Organ Donation Can Support Developed India Vision

The Chief Minister said organ and eye donation can also make an important contribution to Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a developed India.

He said a comprehensive campaign would be conducted for social reform, service to humanity and greater public awareness about organ donation.

CM Remembers Sushil Modi

Samrat Choudhary remembered former Deputy Chief Minister late Sushil Modi and said work in the field of organ donation had been carried out under his guidance for a long time.

He described Sushil Modi’s contribution to the cause as memorable.

Assam Governor Laxman Acharya Welcomed

The Chief Minister welcomed and felicitated Assam Governor Laxman Acharya on his arrival in Bihar. He said Acharya’s visit to Bihar was a matter of pride for the state.

Samrat Choudhary urged Acharya to continue visiting Bihar and contribute to the state’s glorious history and development.

During the programme, members of the Dadhichi Dehdaan Samiti, Bihar, welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting him with an angavastram and a memento.

The programme was organised by the Dadhichi Dehdaan Samiti, Bihar, at the premises of the Bihar Chamber of Commerce, Patna.
