Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday distributed appointment letters to 101 selected candidates from the Animal Husbandry, Sugarcane Development and Sugar Industry departments at a programme held at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office in Dehradun.
The appointments include 88 Livestock Extension Officers and 13 Sugarcane Supervisors. Congratulating the newly appointed employees, Dhami wished them success in their careers and said their appointment was the result of their hard work, discipline and determination.
CM Dhami Emphasises Public Service
Dhami said the newly appointed employees were now becoming an integral part of the Uttarakhand government and beginning an important journey of public service.
He urged them to use their knowledge, energy and new ideas to make government functioning more effective and set an example through their working style.
Focus on Transparent Recruitment
The Chief Minister said the state government had implemented a strict anti-copying law to ensure transparency in recruitment processes and protect the interests of young people.
He said government jobs were now being secured on the basis of merit, hard work and talent rather than recommendations or personal connections. According to Dhami, more than 34,000 young people have secured government jobs during the past five years.
He said this reflected the state government’s commitment to maintaining a transparent recruitment system and providing opportunities based on merit.
Animal Husbandry Linked to Rural Economy
Dhami said the Animal Husbandry, Sugarcane Development and Sugar Industry departments were directly connected with the rural economy of Uttarakhand.
In the hill areas, animal husbandry is an important source of livelihood for thousands of families and also contributes to the economic empowerment of women and the prosperity of villages. He said the state government was continuously working to promote animal husbandry as a means of employment, self-employment and rural development.
Schemes to Promote Dairy and Animal Husbandry
The Chief Minister said animal husbandry and the dairy sector were being promoted through the Mukhyamantri Aanchal Amrit Yojana, Mukhyamantri Ghasyari Kalyan Yojana and Mukhyamantri Rajya Pashudhan Mission.
Under these initiatives, efforts are being made to provide subsidised units for cow, goat, sheep and poultry farming. Facilities for artificial insemination, vaccination and improved veterinary care are also being strengthened.
Focus on Sugarcane Farmers
Dhami said the state government was also committed to protecting the interests of sugarcane farmers. The sugarcane survey system has been made online and transparent.
Sugarcane clinics and advisory centres have been launched to provide farmers with information about new technology, improved sugarcane varieties and scientific farming practices.
He said sugarcane farmers in Uttarakhand are being paid Rs 5 more per quintal than the rate in Uttar Pradesh.
Employees Told to Ensure Timely Delivery of Schemes
The Chief Minister told the newly appointed employees that ensuring government schemes reach eligible beneficiaries in a timely and transparent manner would be one of their key responsibilities.
He urged them to communicate with farmers and livestock owners, understand their problems and work sensitively towards finding solutions. He also stressed that ordinary citizens should not have to face unnecessary difficulties while accessing government services.
Dhami asked the new employees to follow the principles of “simplification, solution, disposal and satisfaction” and discharge their duties with honesty, discipline and sensitivity.
Cabinet ministers Saurabh Bahuguna, Ganesh Joshi and Khajan Das, Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, MLAs Savita Kapoor and Durgeshwar Lal, Secretary S.N. Pandey and other officials were present at the programme.
