Ranchi : Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Assembly Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi extended greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Karam Puja.
Karam festival is being celebrated across Jharkhand with traditional rituals and cultural programmes. The festival is closely associated with nature, tribal culture, community participation and the bond between brothers and sisters.
Governor Santosh Gangwar’s Message
Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar extended his greetings to the people of Jharkhand on the occasion of Karam Puja. He described the festival as a symbol of nature, culture and community unity.
The Governor said he wished that Karam Puja would bring happiness, peace, prosperity and well-being to everyone’s life.
Gangwar had also attended a Karam festival-eve programme in Bero, Ranchi, where he spoke about the close relationship between tribal culture and nature and emphasised the importance of protecting the environment.
Hemant Soren Highlights Nature and Tradition
Chief Minister Hemant Soren extended his greetings on the occasion of the nature festival Karam. He said the festival symbolises the deep connection between nature and human life, the bond between brothers and sisters, social unity and Jharkhand’s rich culture and traditions.
Soren said Karam festival inspires people to respect, appreciate and protect nature. He said water, forests and land are not only the basis of life but are also part of the state’s culture, traditions and heritage for future generations.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the traditional celebrations associated with Karam festival, including the installation of the Karam branch at the akhra, the beats of the mandar, Karam songs and community dances.
He said the festival encourages people to remain connected to their roots. While moving forward on the path of modernisation and development, he stressed the importance of preserving language, culture, traditions, indigenous knowledge and the relationship with nature.
Soren said preserving this rich heritage of ancestors and passing it on to future generations is a collective responsibility.
“I wish that on this auspicious occasion, every family remains blessed with happiness, peace, prosperity and well-being. May the bond between brothers and sisters grow stronger, social harmony and unity increase, and Jharkhand continue to progress in harmony with nature and culture.”
Babulal Marandi Extends Karam Wishes
Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi also extended greetings and best wishes to the people of Jharkhand on Karam Puja.
Marandi described Karam festival as a symbol of the enduring bond between brothers and sisters. He wished that the sacred festival, which he described as an expression of Jharkhand’s tribal and indigenous folk culture, would bring happiness, peace and prosperity to everyone.
Karam is one of Jharkhand’s prominent nature and cultural festivals. The Jharkhand government describes the festival as being associated with the worship of Karam Devta, with traditional singing and group dancing forming an important part of the celebrations.
