Paras HEC Hospital Ranchi Introduces AI-Based Personalised Knee Replacement

Ranchi : Paras HEC Hospital, Ranchi, has introduced advanced AI-based Robotricks Plus technology for personalised Total Knee Replacement (TKR) procedures. The technology is being used by Dr Vivek Kumar David, Consultant Orthopaedic and Joint Replacement Surgeon at the hospital.

Since the installation of the system, seven knee replacement surgeries have been performed with its assistance over the past month, according to the hospital.

Robotricks Plus assists surgeons in planning implant positioning and alignment by taking into account the patient’s individual anatomy and the natural alignment of the knee. The system provides relevant measurements and information across three key stages of the procedure—pre-operative planning, intra-operative guidance and post-operative validation.

Dr Vivek Kumar David said that every individual has a different knee anatomy and that Robotricks Plus helps surgeons understand the patient’s natural anatomical structure and plan the knee replacement accordingly.

“Robotricks Plus does not replace the surgeon. It functions as an advanced AI-based planning and guidance system, while all final surgical decisions remain with the surgeon,” he said.

Dr David added that the initial experience from the seven procedures has been encouraging. He said the introduction of the technology would enable patients in Jharkhand to access modern and personalised knee replacement procedures within Ranchi itself.

Dr Nitesh Kumar, Facility Director, Paras HEC Hospital, said the introduction of advanced AI-based technology such as Robotricks Plus would help provide more personalised and modern treatment options to patients undergoing knee replacement.

“Our endeavour is to ensure that patients from Jharkhand do not have to travel to other cities in search of advanced healthcare facilities. This technology provides surgeons with enhanced planning capabilities and improved guidance during surgery,” he said.

Paras HEC Hospital said it remains committed to adopting modern medical technologies and providing quality healthcare services to patients in the region.
