EOU Raids Five Locations of Former Engineer Narad Kumar Das in DA Case

Muzaffarpur : The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police has launched simultaneous searches at five locations linked to former executive engineer Narad Kumar Das in connection with a disproportionate assets case.

The action was initiated on October 8, 2026, by special teams constituted under the leadership of officers of Deputy Superintendent of Police rank. The searches were conducted after the EOU obtained search warrants from the Special Court (Vigilance), Patna.

Case Registered Under Prevention of Corruption Act

According to details released by the Economic Offences Division of Bihar Police Headquarters, a case was registered against Narad Kumar Das under Case No. 28/26 dated October 7, 2026.

The case has been registered under Section 13(2) read with Section 13(1)(b) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, as amended in 2018.

The EOU launched the searches following the registration of the case and obtaining the required search warrants from the Special Court.

Evidence of ₹83.53 Lakh Disproportionate Assets

Based on a preliminary inquiry and information received from reliable sources, the EOU has found prima facie evidence that Narad Kumar Das allegedly possesses ₹83,53,200 in assets disproportionate to his known lawful sources of income.

The amount is stated to be around 64.93 per cent more than his known legal income.

Das is originally a resident of Hanuman Path, Tilkamanjhi, Bhagalpur, and has served in Munger.

Searches at Five Locations

The EOU is conducting searches at the following five premises:

  1. Ancestral residence at Hanuman Path, Tilkamanjhi, Bhagalpur
  2. Residence at Belan Bazar, Bengali Tola, Kasim Bazar police station area, Munger
  3. Government office of the Local Area Engineering Organisation, Works Division, Munger
  4. Flat No. 02F, Radhika Apartment, Naya Tola, Kazi Mohammadpur, Muzaffarpur
  5. Residence at Kusumpuram locality, Rupaspur police station area, Patna

Different EOU teams are conducting searches at all five locations.

Documents and Records Under Examination

The EOU is examining records and documents connected with the assets and financial activities of the accused as part of the investigation.

According to Bihar Police Headquarters, after completion of the searches, the EOU will provide further details and a final list of documents or assets seized during the operation.

The investigation into the disproportionate assets case is continuing.
