Police said they were planning to flee towards Nepal after travelling through other cities.

The operation was carried out by a joint team involving Mumbai Police, Kota City Police and railway security personnel, following technical inputs and intelligence shared by Mumbai investigators.

Who Are the Three Suspects?

The two adult suspects have been identified in reports as Rehan alias Sukka, 18, a resident of Sonipat in Haryana, and Ritvik Kurmi, also reported as Hritik Kumar alias Roshan, 22, originally from Bihar and currently living in Andheri West, Mumbai. The third suspect is a minor, whose identity is being withheld in this report.

According to police, Rehan was allegedly in contact with Anil Pandit, who is suspected of having links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Investigators are examining the alleged roles of the suspects and the extent of their connections with the gang.

Kota Superintendent of Police Tejaswini Gautam said the team acted quickly after receiving information from Mumbai Police. Officers searched the train and apprehended the suspects at around 10:18 am on Monday.

Police said no weapons were recovered from the suspects at the time of their apprehension. Investigators are examining what happened to the weapons allegedly used in the shooting and how the suspects travelled after the incident.

The suspects are expected to be handed over to Mumbai Police for further interrogation. Investigators will seek to establish the alleged conspiracy, the source of the weapons and whether other people were involved.
