- MoU Signed Between Government of Jharkhand and Union Bank of India Regarding Salary Package
Ranchi: In the presence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Wednesday at the Jharkhand Mantralaya (Project Bhawan), Ranchi, between the Finance Department of the Government of Jharkhand and Union Bank of India. The objective of this agreement is to provide state government employees with enhanced banking facilities, financial security, and various other benefits through a special salary package. Approximately 1.75 lakh state government employees will benefit from this agreement.

The Chief Minister stated that Jharkhand is a tribal-majority state. Given this, he expressed an expectation that the tribal community should receive special priority and benefits within the banking sector. He emphasized that banking services should not be limited to government employees alone; rather, the poor, the backward, the marginalized, and those living in rural areas of the state should also be brought into the fold of these services. He noted that the state’s tribal community faces unique social and economic circumstances, and collective efforts are essential to ensure the financial security of their families and improve their quality of life.
The Chief Minister remarked that the struggle and contributions of the tribal society in Jharkhand hold immense significance in the nation’s history. Brave figures from the state, including Bhagwan Birsa Munda, played a pivotal role in the fight for the country’s freedom and self-respect by resisting British colonial rule. Consequently, special efforts must be made toward the economic empowerment of the state’s tribal and rural communities, keeping their interests at the forefront.
Easy Access to Banking and Credit Facilities for Youth and Small Entrepreneurs
The Chief Minister highlighted that the state government is implementing various schemes aimed at fostering self-reliance among the poor, the needy, and the youth. Through these initiatives, young people are securing loans and moving toward self-employment. He urged banks to simplify and streamline the loan-disbursement process, ensuring that youth in rural areas, small-scale entrepreneurs, and those in need can easily access the support required to initiate economic activities. The Chief Minister stated that it is essential to strengthen public trust in the banking system. Banks should provide facilities that enable the common people to easily connect with and benefit from the banking system. He emphasized that ensuring the financial security and strengthening the economic status of every citizen in the state is among the government’s top priorities, and the government is continuously working toward this goal.
A Positive Initiative for Employees
On this occasion, Chief Minister Hemant Soren remarked that Union Bank of India has taken a commendable initiative for the benefit of state government employees.
