- CM directs faster execution of key irrigation, road, and health projects; sets ₹2,000 crore CSR funding target for development initiatives.
Bihar News : Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Tuesday reviewed the progress of major development projects under the ‘Bihar Gati’ initiative at the ‘Sankalp’ Hall in the Lok Sevak Residence. The meeting assessed projects worth over ₹100 crore and centrally sponsored schemes being implemented across the state. The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure timely completion of all projects while maintaining quality standards.
During the review, the Chief Minister examined key projects of the Water Resources, Road Construction, and Health Departments. He instructed officials to promptly resolve administrative and technical hurdles and conduct regular monitoring to maintain the pace of implementation.
Reviewing the Water Resources Department, Choudhary directed officials to accelerate work on the Kosi-Mechi Inter-State Link Project immediately after the monsoon. He also emphasized expediting the North Koel Reservoir Project, stating that its completion would significantly enhance irrigation capacity and directly benefit farmers. The Mandai Weir Project was also reviewed, with directions for continuous monitoring and completion within the stipulated timeline.
In the Road Construction Department review, the Chief Minister ordered faster progress on the Varanasi–Ranchi–Kolkata Six-Lane Corridor, the Amas–Darbhanga Four-Lane Project, and the Kanhauli–Sherpur (NH-131G) Six-Lane Project. He instructed officials to resolve issues related to land acquisition, forest clearances, and other administrative approvals to prevent delays.
Choudhary said the completion of these infrastructure projects would improve road connectivity, facilitate smoother transportation, and boost economic and industrial growth across Bihar.
Reviewing the Health Department, the Chief Minister directed officials to strengthen the TB-Free India campaign by improving patient identification, treatment, and public awareness initiatives to achieve the programme’s targets on time.
The Chief Minister also asked officials to prepare an action plan to mobilize ₹2,000 crore through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. He emphasized increasing CSR investments in education, healthcare, skill development, sports, women’s empowerment, and other public welfare sectors by strengthening collaboration with industries and corporate organizations, aiming to accelerate Bihar’s overall development.
