Bihar News : Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Sunday attended a felicitation ceremony organised by the All India Kanu-Halwai Vichar Manch at Shri Krishna Memorial Hall in Patna. Addressing the gathering, he said Bihar has a government of the people, not one belonging to any individual or alliance, and that every minister and legislator is working as a public servant.
The Chief Minister said every day and every hour of the state government is dedicated to development and public service. He announced that one crore BPL families will be identified and provided ration cards before March 31, 2027. The government has also set a target of installing solar panels on the rooftops of 25 lakh households to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply.
211 New Degree Colleges Begin Academic Activities
Choudhary said an Architecture and Civil Engineering University is being established in Muzaffarpur in the name of freedom fighter Shaheed Jubba Sahni.
He said Bihar had only 278 degree colleges even after 78 years of Independence, while the state government has started academic activities simultaneously at 211 new degree colleges from July 15. Regular teaching will begin at all the new colleges within the next 10 days, he said. For this, 3,000 lecturers are being appointed on a contractual basis.
5.33 Lakh Applications Disposed of
The Chief Minister said 5.83 lakh applications have so far been received through Sahayata Camps and the Sahayog Portal, of which 5.33 lakh have already been disposed of.
He said accountability has been fixed for officials found negligent. So far, 9,000 officials have received first notices, 350 have received second notices and four have received third notices. He made it clear that every application must be disposed of within 30 days.
Government to Support Development of Palvaiya Dham
Choudhary said land would be acquired as required for the comprehensive development of Baba Ganinath Ji Maharaj Temple at Palvaiya Dham, and the government would extend all possible support.
He said better road connectivity to Palvaiya Dham through Marine Drive would be developed over the next five years. A plan is also being worked on to develop a road link to Mokama through the Ganga Ambika Path, connecting five bridges from Sonpur to the Raghopur bridge.
The Chief Minister urged members of the Kanu-Halwai community to remain united and actively participate in Bihar’s development. He said the state government stands firmly with the community.
Tourism Minister Kedar Prasad Gupta and BJP state president Sanjay Sarawagi also addressed the event.
