Bihar News : In a major push to industrial development, the Bihar government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Mahashakti Group for the establishment of a ₹6,000 crore integrated steel project in the state. The MoU was exchanged between the Department of Industries and the Mahashakti Group in the presence of Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary at the ‘Sankalp’ Hall of the Chief Minister’s official residence.
The proposed integrated steel plant will be set up in Gaya district with an annual finished steel production capacity of 1.0 to 1.5 million tonnes. The investment is expected to accelerate Bihar’s industrial growth and strengthen its position as an emerging industrial hub in India.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said the state government is continuously working to create an industry-friendly environment by providing robust infrastructure, transparent policies, and prompt administrative support to investors. He noted that these initiatives are helping attract large-scale investments to Bihar.
The Chief Minister said the project would generate significant direct and indirect employment opportunities while boosting ancillary and small-scale industries, thereby strengthening the regional economy.
He expressed confidence that the coordinated efforts of the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA), the Department of Industries, and the investor would ensure the timely implementation of the project, marking a new chapter in Bihar’s industrial development.
