India News : Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has sparked controversy after attending an official meeting accompanied by her husband, Manish Gupta, a businessman and social worker. The CM even shared photos on X (formerly Twitter), showing her husband seated alongside senior officials.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) mocked the incident by posting a clip from the web series Panchayat, captioning it as the “Phulera Panchayat government in Delhi.”
AAP leader Sanjay Singh said, “Welcome to Phulera Panchayat. Prime Minister Modi has made two Chief Ministers in Delhi—Rekha Gupta is CM, while her husband is the ‘Super CM.’ The BJP has ruined Delhi in just six months.”
The Congress also joined in, questioning on X: “Who is actually running the government—CM Rekha Gupta or her husband?”
The incident has triggered a political storm, with the opposition accusing the BJP-led government of undermining governance norms.
