- CM Samrat Choudhary launched ‘Aagaz 2026’ at LNMI and announced an AI Centre, Quantum Computer Centre, satellite campus and global exposure visits for students.
Bihar News : Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday inaugurated the student induction and orientation programme ‘Aagaz 2026’ at the Lalit Narayan Mishra Institute of Economic Development and Social Change (LNMI). During the programme, he felicitated six gold medalists who passed out in 2026 and extended his best wishes to students newly admitted to the 2026 batch. The Chief Minister also launched the institute’s Learning Management System.
While congratulating the newly admitted students, Choudhary said Bihar’s youth have no shortage of talent. He said the need is to provide them with quality education, modern skills and opportunities at the global level.
LNMI Capacity to Be Increased to 3,000 Students
Addressing the ‘Aagaz 2026’ programme, the Chief Minister said he was pleased to be present on the important occasion for the students. He described LNMI as an important part of Bihar’s educational heritage.
Choudhary said around 1,600 students are currently studying at the institute. Work will be undertaken to increase its capacity to 3,000 students. Admission to the institute is based on performance in competitive examinations such as CAT and MAT.
‘Ganga to Global’ Initiative for Student Exposure
The Chief Minister said that under the ‘Ganga to Global’ concept, students from Bihar will be introduced to the working methods, knowledge and strengths of reputed institutions in India and abroad. Around 100 students will be taken on a one-month exposure visit in every academic session.
He said efforts are also being made to provide students with opportunities to learn from good institutions abroad. To address the shortage of land at LNMI, the one-acre land proposed by the Building Construction Department will be provided to the institute.
10-Acre Satellite Campus to Come Up
Choudhary said the government is taking important steps in the education sector. Degree colleges have been established in all blocks. He said classes at the 211 degree colleges launched on July 15 started from August 10 with teachers joining the institutions.
He also said 551 model schools have been launched. From August 15, students will be able to study online even after 11 pm and ask questions to teachers to prepare better for examinations.
The Chief Minister said young people will play an important role in restoring global recognition to Bihar’s glorious history and heritage of Magadh. He urged Bihar’s youth to remain connected with their birthplace wherever they live in India or abroad and contribute to the state’s prosperity.
He announced that 10 acres of land will be made available to LNMI for establishing a satellite campus as part of the development of new townships. An AI Centre of Excellence and a Centre for Urban Policy and Governance will also be established at the institute.
AI, Quantum Computing and Water Management in Focus
The Chief Minister said a Quantum Computer Centre will be established at LNMI. The aim is to provide students with better opportunities for study and research in modern policymaking, urban development, administration and governance.
Choudhary said the world is changing rapidly and technology is playing an increasing role in every sector. The use of AI is also growing rapidly. He said better work has been carried out in Bihar in the area of flood management.
He said the river-linking programme was started under the leadership of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He added that steps have been called for to improve the Kosi, Narayani and Ganga river basins for better water management.
The Chief Minister said improved water management has resulted in Bihar currently having 44 lakh hectares of irrigated land. He also said a 200-km Marine Drive is being developed in PPP mode by 2030, with an investment of Rs 1 lakh crore.
Choudhary said industrial development is essential for making Bihar prosperous. He urged students to study well and acquire quality education to move ahead in life. He also encouraged them to make every possible effort to achieve their dreams.
