Offbeat News : The Bombay High Court has passed a major order in the death case of Disha Salian, former manager of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The court has directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take over the probe, register an FIR and conduct a comprehensive investigation into the case.
The order came on a petition filed by Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian. He had raised questions over alleged shortcomings in the initial investigation by the Mumbai Police and sought an independent and impartial probe into his daughter’s death.
High Court Directs CBI to Appoint Senior Officer
A division bench of the Bombay High Court directed the CBI to appoint a senior and experienced officer to investigate the case. The court also made it clear that no person should be treated as an accused unless sufficient material and evidence emerge during the investigation.
According to reports, the CBI will record the statement of Disha Salian’s father and examine all aspects related to the case. The relevant police records will also be handed over to the investigating agency as part of the process.

Disha Salian died on June 8, 2020, in Mumbai’s Malad area. Actor Sushant Singh Rajput died a few days later.
Because of the timing of the two deaths, Disha Salian’s case has remained a subject of public and legal discussion for several years.
Father Had Raised Questions Over Mumbai Police Probe
In his petition, Satish Salian questioned the investigation conducted by the Mumbai Police. During an earlier hearing, the court had also expressed concern over why adequate action was not taken despite the family’s complaints, particularly regarding the registration of only an Accidental Death Report (ADR) instead of an FIR.
The High Court has now clearly stated that no individual should be considered an accused without sufficient evidence emerging during the investigation.
CBI to Conduct Independent Investigation
The CBI will now independently examine all facts and circumstances surrounding Disha Salian’s death. Further action will depend on the evidence that emerges during the investigation.
The High Court’s decision to order a CBI probe marks a significant legal development in the six-year-old case. The next course of action will become clearer after the CBI completes its investigation and examines the available evidence.
