India News : A government primary school in Khairbana village of Chhuikhadan block has become the center of fear and mystery after several girl students began fainting repeatedly on campus. Over the past 15 days, nearly 20 to 25 schoolgirls have suddenly fallen unconscious, triggering panic among parents, teachers, and villagers.
What has surprised everyone is that the students leave home completely healthy but start feeling dizzy soon after entering the school premises. In many cases, the girls collapse within minutes, creating a frightening atmosphere in the school. Due to growing fear, some parents have even stopped sending their children to school.
Taking the situation seriously, the Health Department conducted regular medical camps at the school. Doctors performed blood tests and other medical examinations, but no signs of infection, poisoning, or physical illness were found. All medical reports came back normal, deepening the mystery surrounding the incidents.
District Collector personally visited the school to assess the situation. After reviewing the reports and interacting with officials, he directed health authorities to conduct psychological evaluations of the affected students to identify the root cause.
Mass Hysteria Likely Cause
According to preliminary findings by health experts, the incidents are being linked to mass hysteria, a psychological phenomenon where fear or stress spreads rapidly within a group. Experts explained that when one student faints, others may subconsciously develop similar symptoms due to anxiety, fear, or repeated discussion of the incident.
Doctors clarified that mass hysteria is not pretended illness—it feels completely real to those affected, even though no physical cause is detected.
Focus on Mental Health and Safety
School authorities have been instructed to ensure a calm, safe, and positive environment for students. Psychological counseling sessions are being planned to help children overcome fear and anxiety. Parents have been advised not to panic or spread rumors, as fear can worsen the situation.
Officials emphasized that once fear subsides and confidence is restored, such cases usually resolve on their own. The incident has once again highlighted the importance of mental health awareness in schools, alongside regular academic activities.
