He also made a reference to the previous terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which had raised serious concerns about the safety of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims. In his statement, Raju said,
“The excellent arrangements made in Ramban are a befitting reply to the terror attack in Pahalgam. The Yatra continues with greater spirit and stronger resolve.”
The administration emphasized that comprehensive security and logistics arrangements have been made, especially in sensitive stretches of the route. Multiple security checkpoints, medical aid centers, and surveillance units have been activated along the highway and pilgrimage path.
The pilgrims expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and said that the arrangements made their spiritual journey comfortable and safe. Many noted the cleanliness, food quality, and medical facilities provided at Chanderkote and surrounding areas.
The Shri Amarnath Yatra, one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimages, attracts lakhs of devotees every year who travel through tough mountain terrains to reach the Amarnath Cave Shrine, believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva. The successful beginning of the Yatra from Chanderkote reflects the state’s commitment to preserving tradition and ensuring safety.
As more batches are set to follow, officials assured that round-the-clock monitoring and emergency services will remain in place throughout the Yatra period.
